Quality Engineer - South Wales C £25k
Our client based in South Wales currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team.
This is a key role in improving the quality of our client's products and processes. Reporting to the Engineering Manager this position involves designing quality in to their new products and improving the quality of existing products by playing a lead role in co-ordinating the efforts of different departments in this objective. In addition, this position covers many routine duties that are important in maintaining the efficient performance of the Quality Assurance function.
Primary Duties:
Lead quality improvement initiatives.
Co-ordinate inter-departmental programmes to improve product quality.
Provide input into new product design.
Develop pro-active relationship with suppliers to improve quality of incoming components.
Preparation & presentation of reports analysing instrument faults, trends and recommendations.
Attend and play a key role in bi-weekly quality improvement team meetings.
Product testing and development of product test procedures.
Delegate work priority to quality assistants.
Preparation of goods inwards inspection procedures.
Consult with production staff and prepare product process plans.
Issue and maintain design changes and corrective actions.
Arrange calibration of test equipment within designated time periods.
Maintain calibration records in line with documented procedures.
Assist in auditing of quality system in line with documented procedures.
