Electrochemist - PV Systems

Salary: £25-28,000 (negotiable)
Location: South Wales
A specialist solar power developer with patented cutting edge technology is looking to appoint an experienced research / lab based scientist to evaluate the photovoltaic and electrochemical performance of solar cell devices and their individual components.

You will be responsible for developing the optimisation of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) through the design of experiments and developing new testing protocols. Another area of responsibility will be to support manufacturing and characterisation of solar cells.

The position will be mostly lab-based, and would suit somebody happy to work in this environment.

Essential skills and qualifications:

Background in photovoltaics (PV, photochemistry and nano-structured materials
Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry experience particularly Impedance Spectroscopy (IS)
Applied techniques including some or all of:
· Intensity Modulated Photocurrent / Photovoltage Spectroscopy
· Mott Schottky
· Voltammetry
· Electro Impedance Spectroscopy
· Flourescence
· Photocurrent transients
· Photovaltage transients
· Photoinduces Absorption Spectroscopy
· UV-Vis spectroscopy
· IV Characterisation
· Incident Photon conversion efficiency

Candidates with either a PhD or working experience in a scientific or technical environment will be given preference. Molecular modelling is also advantageous, as is project management experience.
