This international company specialises in project management of various carbon reduction projects on behalf of organisations throughout the world. Providing finance to support emission reduction on behalf of clients, as well as implementing, registering and selling carbon offsets, the company offers a full service.
They are looking to appoint a Portfolio Director to manage a large number of projects and lead the international team, coordinating work to ensure a swift turnaround of credit issuing.
Responsibilities will include:
Negotiation with DOE, VCSA, UNFCCC throughout the world
Ensuring stakeholders perform their functions in a timely manner
Timely delivery of carbon credits to clients
Managing an international project management and implementation team
Project Management
Building relationships with DOEs and stakeholders; whilst maintaining control of the process to obtain the best result for the company.
Skills and experience:
In depth knowledge of the carbon industry, particularly: BCSA, CDM, VER regulations
Project Management skills (PRINCE2 would be beneficial although not essential)
Communications skills at all levels (a second language such as German or Chinese would be advantageous)
Technical or Engineering background preferred
Experience working with DOEs is essential.
