Electrical Network Design Engineer – Senior Level

A leading utilities company based in South Wales, which is growing at a fantastic rate, is developing a brand new division specialising in providing electrical design services for Embedded / Renewable Generation Developers. The three major disciplines will include:
· Design of on-site electrical systems for wind farms, Solar PV and other renewable energy systems
· Design, negotiation and managing installations
· Impact assessment studies of embedded generation
Responsibilities:
· Delivery and development of electrical grid connections projects for embedded generation
· Electrical system design consultancy for renewable energy developers, public and private sector organisations
· Design, specification, evaluation, implementation and operation of grid integration of renewable energy from <1MW to >50MW
· Prepare detailed transmission and distribution plant specifications
· Conduct Design Risk Assessments / HAZOPs
· Health and Safety compliance and document production
Skills:
· Design systems analysis, specification, construction and operation of EHV / HV / MV / LV electrical networks, substations and plant equipment
· Strong experience in power systems design or renewable energy industry experience
· Preferably a Chartered / Incorporated Electrical Engineer, or working towards this
· Degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems preferably)
· In depth knowledge of control systems and Scada Package applications.
